What are the service requirements?

Just like your automobile your golf cart requires regular service for both longest life and operator safety. The frequency of this service depends on your usage but generally an annual service is required.

Why electric transportation like golf carts?

The early definition of a golf cart was a vehicle used to convey equipment and no more than two persons, including the driver, to play the game of golf in an area designated as a golf course.

But that's changed. Today you'll find golf carts on movie sets, at the park and at the local police department. There are more than 1 million golf carts in operation, and they're being used for numerous transportation purposes.

Should I buy a gas or electric golf cart?

This is perhaps the first question you should ask yourself and it has to do with your skill level, budget and cart usage.

Generally a gas cart is a few hundred dollars more than an electric until they reach about 15 years old then the electric cart retains more of its value as it is expected to have a longer life and far less repairs. We have many 30 plus year old electric carts still in operation.

How much do golf carts cost?

After the initial purchase, the cost of owning a golf car with proper care is very low.

If you purchase a cart that is a few years old and beyond the initial deprecation, the cost of ownership will be about $300 per year with deprecation, maintenance and battery use.
